Development Story / 開発ストーリー
■ Development Notes Initially, we were developing a classic sacoche bag. While classic sacoche bags have a simple design and are versatile enough to hold anything, we felt that their simple pattern made it difficult to organize items, and that items would rattle around inside. While hiking the PCT, I noticed that most hikers were wearing fanny packs or waist packs, and I was curious about their usability and comfort during hiking. After returning to Japan, I researched fanny packs from various manufacturers and considered design options. After considering versatility and ease of use, we found that the standard shape is the easiest to pack and use. Because my father had used a fanny pack for many years while working at his liquor store, I interviewed him about the size and usage he felt, and then designed a fanny pack that could be used for both liquor store work and hiking. From there, we repeatedly conducted field tests for outdoor use, pursuing a classic fanny pack that was easy to use and functional. Not too big, not too small. - It should be foldable when not in use. - It holds more than it looks like it would. - The map should be displayed horizontally. - It must be able to fit a compact camera and interchangeable lenses. - The zipper opens wide. - As a liquor store, banknotes and beer vouchers should fit in the store without being folded. ■Size To begin the design process, we first decided on the contents and specifications. capacity Main body: Approximately 1.5L Front pocket: Approximately 0.3L Rear smartphone pocket size Width approx. 23cm Height: Approximately 16cm Depth: Approximately 10cm Examples of items to store Mountain and plateau map / Wallet / Trail food / Keys / Regular medication / Compact camera / Headlamp / Mobile battery / iPhone 15 Pro

Design Concept / 設計コンセプト
■Design Concept Just like with the backpack's concept and design methods, we made extensive use of 3D CAD to create three-dimensional patterns. The balance of the center of gravity and ease of packing were also made possible thanks to 3D CAD. We use a combination of three or more types of fabric, differentiating between areas where lightness is required and areas where durability is needed. The front is made of tear-resistant Dyneema ripstop nylon, the sides use X-Pac which acts as a stiff frame, the interior uses supple and brightly colored Robic nylon, and the body-facing side uses double Russell nylon which has good breathability and cushioning. All of these fabrics have passed field tests and tests at research institutions. They are treated with Jungle PU, which is resistant to hydrolysis, making them fabrics that can be used for a long time even in Japan's hot and humid environment.

Function & Detail / 機能ディティール
■Main body First, we focused on the angle at which the zipper opens. The zipper is positioned at an angle that makes it appear vertical when wrapped around the stomach, ensuring smooth operation. Because the zipper extends to both ends, a large opening is ensured. The zipper pulls are individually manufactured using a 3D printer. There's a compartment on the inside, on the side that fits a map. If you don't want to put a map in, you could put a hand towel or something similar inside to use as cushioning. The main body is thick enough to accommodate compact cameras like the RICOH GR3 and small interchangeable lenses. The interior fabric uses 100D yellow ROBIC nylon, which enhances visibility when illuminated by the yellow color. ■ Front pocket This pocket is designed to hold small items and keys. The front pocket has a deep gusset, so it won't collapse even when the main compartment is full. Inside, there is a key strap where you can keep your keys. It's designed to be thin enough to hold keys, a bifold wallet, earphones, and other small items. ■Back Like the back of the backpack, it uses double Russell mesh for breathability and cushioning. There is a pocket at the top for storing a smartphone. Furthermore, there are belt loops on both sides, allowing you to attach the straps or belts of your favorite backpack. ■ Hooks and belts There are detachable wire gate buckles on both sides. These buckles allow you to easily attach and detach the belt. Furthermore, the wire gate buckles allow you to attach it to various places such as backpacks. It can also be attached to the waist of backpacks, etc., by using additional parts.
