■ Development Notes When I was a student, I didn't have much money, so I studied materials and tried to find items from Uniqlo and GU that I could use for mountain climbing. Some of those items weren't usable as they were, so I modified them and enjoyed mountain climbing and hiking. That was the initial trigger that made me want to start using a sewing machine. I discovered MYOG (Make Your Own Gear) and have since made all sorts of makeshift tools. Back then, there wasn't much information available, and I remember making things by taking apart pouches and other items from the market. Since I didn't have any money, I secretly took pictures in stores and tried to imitate their structure. Learning to use a sewing machine from scratch can be challenging, so we developed this product to make it more accessible and to encourage people to experience MYOG, which is at the heart of UL (Ultralight) living. I tried to make the 16-page instruction manual as easy to understand as possible.

Customization ・Afterword ■Instruction manual design I really like the early internet-era feel of Lay Jardine's website and publications. I imagined what it would have been like if someone in Japan at that time had self-published like Ray Jardine, and designed it using Word 2003. I'm quite pleased with the result, as designing solely with Word inevitably results in a very amateurish and unstylish design. It's so uncool that we might change the design without prior notice.
