Development Story / 開発ストーリー
■ Development Notes When using knit hats or winter caps in winter mountains or on trails in cold weather, it inevitably becomes too hot. I sweat easily, and when I climb, my body temperature rises and my head quickly becomes damp with sweat. By the time I reached the campsite, the sweat I'd worked up would have cooled, my hair would have frozen solid, and I'd be stuck in that sticky state all the way down the mountain. On the other hand, your ears and neck will definitely get cold. I can't completely take off my winter clothing, but it also feels strange to keep wearing a knit hat that makes me sweat. That's when I realized, While using a breathable cap suitable for all seasons, The idea was to add only the necessary amount of warmth. I'd love to have a layering tool that combines the best features of a knit hat and a neck gaiter, using the whole garment technology from the factory that makes my socks. CapNi Band is It was created to fill the gap between a cap and a knit hat. This is a simple cold-weather accessory.

Design Concept / 設計コンセプト
Design
I tried to keep the design as simple as possible. It uses wool and incorporates PU thread to prevent slippage. It's simply a "tube" without using buckles or stitching. By avoiding the use of unnecessary parts, we've reduced the feeling of awkwardness during layering and the stress of not wearing the garment. When not being used as earmuffs, I prioritized a position where it would naturally fit around the neck as a neck gaiter. By using a knitting technique that provides both volume and stretch, it achieves a balance between moderate warmth and breathability. The logo consists of only one letter sewn on. It can be cut off with scissors if needed.

How to use
The CapNi Band is designed to be layered with a cap. The standard way to wear it is over a cap. It covers the ears and the neck — the spots that get cold first — while keeping the rest of you well-ventilated so you don't overheat on the move. Depending on the situation, you can switch how you wear it: • over a cap • under a cap • on its own as an ear wrap • as a neck gaiter When you're not using it, slip it around your neck as a neck gaiter — that way you keep it as part of your layering and you don't lose it.
